The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business comprises the university’s three accredited business schools: The Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, and the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. The College delivers undergraduate, graduate, and professional business programs, creating a collaborative, comprehensive business management program that preserves the excellence of all three schools while uniting the faculty and students. Our Team The College’s Office of Undergraduate and Specialized Master’s Programs Admissions team plays a critical role in the success of the college through recruiting and engaging with high quality candidates for our undergraduate and specialized professional master’s programs. The specialized master’s programs (currently 8) are largely pre-professional, catering primarily to students just graduating from their undergraduate studies. This past year the master’s programs attracted approximately 4200 applications, yielding approximately 420 students to Cornell. This team is composed of energetic, collaborative, and knowledgeable individuals who are passionate about finding top tier applicants, are united through a shared vision to elevate the status of our programs and are committed to Cornell’s core values to diversity and inclusion essential for individual and organizational success. Enrollment representatives within Cornell’s colleges, schools, and units regularly collaborate and partner with the Enrollment Division to accomplish the University’s enrollment goals. The Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions Operations Opportunity Reporting to, and with guidance from, the Executive Director of Enrollment Management (EDEM), the Associate Director manages the admissions process (recruitment, application processing, interviewing, review & selection, notification and yield) for the JCB’s undergraduate programs in the Dyson School and the Nolan School. This includes first-year (freshman) and transfer (external and internal) admissions. The Associate Director also supervises a team including an admissions counselor, assistant director of admissions and administrative staff in their tasks related to prospect management, application review and selection, data tracking, and yield. The Associate Director represents JCB admissions to multiple constituencies including prospective applicants and their families, guidance counselors and CBO’s, faculty, staff and administration within the college and across the university. Responsibilities of the Associate Director include compliance with goals and timelines relating to application processing, notification and yield as established by the University Admissions Office (UAO), and JCB and its schools. Under the broader direction of the EDEM, the Associate Director supervises the daily tasks of a staff of assistant director, admissions counselor and administrative staff in their roles relating to inquiry management, application review, selection and yield. The Associate Director oversees personnel administration (vacation requests, approval of hours, etc.) for the group. The Associate Director manages the involvement of faculty and outside seasonal readers in the application review process. The Associate Director will participate in strategic planning addressing enrollment targets and opportunities. In collaboration with the EDEM, the Associate Director manages enrollment goals for college and university priority groups when composing a class. The Associate Director remains up to date on relevant trends and benchmarks in higher education admissions, including ensuring compliance with all federal laws regarding admissions recruitment, selection and yield activities. The Associate Director is responsible for the selection and recruitment of populations including HEOP, EOP and the Pre-freshman Summer Scholars Program. The Associate Director manages the Internal Transfer application process and selection for the college. The Associate Director is responsible for reporting on activities and outcomes, including key performance indicators, annual, longitudinal, and year-over-year comparisons, and will have budgeting exposure. Under the supervision of the EDEM, coordination and collaboration with the Associate Director of Graduate Admissions is part of the team’s success, as the office is rather flat and assistance is occasionally deployed across programs to assist in high volume times as needed. Requirements

  • Bachelors with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
