About The Position

The Associate Director of Regional Engagement is a key position on the Alumni Relations team responsible for developing and coordinating a strategic market presence in key markets for Georgetown. The position achieves this aim chiefly through the managing of Georgetown’s Alumni Clubs and Alumni Contacts in these regions. Toward this end, the position partners closely with Club and Contact volunteers via monthly meetings and travel to each market as budget affords. Part of the position’s role is to cultivate, train, educate and steward a network of volunteers for various leadership positions both within the Alumni Club/Contact structure, as well as preparing them for other volunteer roles at Georgetown and beyond. The Associate Director will work to engage Clubs and Contacts on behalf of the University to deliver key messages and carry forward campaign talking points, the importance of participation in giving to Georgetown, as well as supporting University initiatives. In doing so, they will work to help build and engage a network of informed and educated ambassadors for Georgetown. This position will work closely with Development Officers in their relevant region (West Coast and Southwest), the annual giving team, alumni career services, as well as unit-based Development Officers to create a comprehensive and unique strategy for each market they manage. This strategy will help balance the unique needs and priorities of Georgetown University, the “Called to Be” Campaign, and the Alumni Association. As such, the Associate Director plays an integral role in planning, coordinating and programming off-campus events for the University with the intent to reach our alumni and broader constituent base through a variety of regional events and programs. This person will also oversee our communications strategy for the Alumni Clubs Committee, serving as the liaison to both the Vice-Chair for Communications for that committee and the Communications Committee for the Board of Governors of the Alumni Association. This will involve working with two committees of approximately 20 alumni. Some travel, evening and weekends, are required. The Associate Director will serve as a professional representative of Georgetown University to donors, volunteers, prospects, vendors, faculty, staff and students.
