To learn more about Study Smart Tutors visit us at www.studysmarttutors.com POSITION: The Associate Director (AD) of Program Delivery provides strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of regional partnerships, programs and staff. This role builds on the Program Manager foundation with expanded ownership of regional performance, team development, partner strategy and cross-functional alignment. The Associate Director ensures high-quality program delivery while driving consistency, scalability, and long-term partner success across Southern California. The Associate Director will report directly to the Director of Partnership Success and work closely with Sales, Education, and Operations teams. This position is hybrid, with a mix of virtual and in-person engagements. Candidates must be available to travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in education, academic intervention, after-school programming, or program/partnership management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing programs across multiple sites and partners.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Title I schools, English learners, and neurodivergent student populations.
  • Knowledge of standardized testing (State testing, SAT, ACT) and/or Math/ELA intervention frameworks.
  • Experience with SEL and MTSS frameworks.
  • CRM experience (Salesforce preferred).
  • Teaching or educational leadership certification.

Responsibilities

  • Educator Support & Program Delivery (30%) Provide strategic oversight of tutor and facilitator preparation across all assigned programs, ensuring consistent quality and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Conduct targeted site visits to observe implementation, identify trends, and coach Program Managers on educator support and instructional quality.
  • Partner with education leadership to strengthen instructional models, academic interventions, and equitable delivery modalities (virtual, hybrid, in-person).
  • Review educator performance data and evaluations, supporting corrective action and professional growth where needed.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex educator performance or program quality concerns.
  • Partner Relationship Management (30%) Own senior-level relationships with key LAUSD partners, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of escalation.
  • Lead partner check-ins, program reviews, and renewal conversations in collaboration with Sales and Partnership Success leadership.
  • Analyze and synthesize program data to deliver high-level impact summaries and strategic recommendations to partners.
  • Advocate for partner needs internally, ensuring alignment across implementation, staffing, and billing.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Partnership Success to identify expansion and renewal opportunities
  • Team & Internal Leadership (20%) Directly manage and coach Program Managers, providing regular feedback, performance evaluations, and professional development support.
  • Establish clear expectations, workflows, and accountability structures to drive consistency across the region.
  • Lead regional huddles and contribute to organization-wide planning and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Support onboarding of new team members within the region.
  • Program Operations (20%) Oversee regional program health, including schedules and purchase order (PO) utilization.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and forecasting of PO usage in alignment with delivered services.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Partnership Success to identify risks, gaps, and operational challenges, proactively developing solutions to maintain program continuity.
