About The Position

The University of Wisconsin–Platteville is seeking an Associate Director of Platteville Analytics and Institutional Reporting Services (PAIRS). This position assists with the planning and direction for the administrative operations of the PAIRS department to advance institutional program goals and objectives. The Associate Director of PAIRS partners with the Associate Chancellor to provide team leadership, data analyses, and policy reports to inform strategic planning, decision-making, and resource allocation for the university. The Associate Director will collaborate with other university offices, including Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management & Marketing, Facilities and ITS to positively enhance enrollment, expand accreditation and fulfill sustainability through data-researched decision making and guidance. This is a full-time position, benefit and paid leave eligible, with a salary of $80,000 per year. The position is hybrid, with regular in-person responsibilities and flexible work-from-home options.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, or Economics.
Minimum 5 years’ experience managing, analyzing and reporting data.
Demonstrated experience leading projects with or without a supervisory role.
Expertise with analysis and reporting
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Working knowledge of quantitative research methodology used in the collecting, compiling, organizing, and reporting of data and information
Ability to clearly present data for leaders and division stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Work with the Assistant Chancellor and Platteville Analytics and Institutional Reporting Services (PAIRS) team to ensure the team effectively and efficiently respond to analytic and reporting requests from constituents.
Provide leadership and oversight of department projects and initiatives.
Ensure that institutional requests for data and analysis are responded to accurately and in a timely manner.
Manage the department budget.
Serve as the unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing organizational information and representing the interests of the unit.
Work directly with campus users in an institutional research capacity, providing data analysis and report requests, balancing accurate and timely turnaround with building infrastructure in the form of dashboards and the data warehouse to expedite future requests and analysis.
Work with counterparts at the Universities of Wisconsin Administration to provide scheduled and ad-hoc data feeds.
Work with academic units to ensure that PAIRS responds to academic accreditation needs.
Work with institutional sustainability partners to ensure that PAIRS effectively partners in the process of sustainability accreditation (AASHE).
Evaluate, design, and implement operations to align with the strategic direction of the institution and team.
Develop and maintain complex design/build documentation for approval by business SMEs and project team leads.
Design and build embedded documentation in BI products to support end-user understanding.
Review and provide input to communications and/or training resources on end-user-facing content.
Provide coaching to enterprise BI developers in BI/visualization development with best practices and data governance standards, including data classification and security.
Review and assess BI products for alignment with development standards as part of governance approval and production release.
Contribute to the development and documentation of BI standards.
Ensure that policies, procedures, and standards are maintained and develop processes and procedures to improve the unit.
Provide leadership and expertise in scholarship leveraging analysis.
Exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked.
