The ADON partners with the DON to direct nursing activities throughout the skilled nursing facility. As part of the Nursing Administration Team, runs the daily operation of the nursing department. Assures that CMS/ State Department of Health (DOH) regulations are followed. Ensures that all departmental staff have knowledge of and follow the Archcare Clinical Protocols. Reports identified concerns to the proper agency or individual. Directs and participates in the facility clinical programs, including, but not limited to, Infection Control, Wound Care, QAPI, etc. Participates in facility and Corporate Compliance Meetings and, when necessary to respond to audit reports, Mock Survey results, etc. Participates in AD HOC QAPI and Route Cause Analysis Meetings (RCA) as required. Ensures daily concerns log is populated and items follow-up on by the end of each day. Holds subordinates responsible for lack of follow through on daily concerns. Participates in other facility and corporate committees and programs including but not limited to; Environment of Care, Ambassadors, ARMS, Safety and infection control rounds, etc. Assists in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing departmental goals and objectives. Assists in developing and/or revising departmental policies and procedures. Assist in Supervision and education of nursing staff including nurse aide trainees. Works as part of a dynamic inter-departmental team to identify, address, monitor and report issues affecting quality of care, financial outcomes, quality of life, etc. for our residents.
