About The Position

This is not a routine nursing leadership role. This is an opportunity to shape clinical excellence, elevate psychiatric care standards across programs, and directly influence outcomes for children, families, and communities across Kansas. As Associate Director of Nursing Services, you will serve as a driving force within hospital leadership — building systems that protect patients, strengthen staff, and raise the bar for behavioral healthcare delivery. Our team’s Indeed Work Wellbeing Score of 83 reflects what we prioritize: strong leadership, meaningful work, professional respect, and a culture rooted in accountability and integrity. The Associate Director of Nursing Services is a senior clinical leader and active member of the hospital leadership team. You will: Represent the Nursing Department in collaboration with the Hospital Director to innovate and improve programs Serve as liaison between the Director of Integrated Services, Clinical Services, nursing staff, and clinical teams Model advanced psychiatric nursing practice while maintaining hands-on clinical credibility Establish and uphold standards of nursing care aligned with the Kansas State Board of Nursing, the State of Kansas, and KVC Health Systems You will lead not only through oversight, but through example — delivering proficient, age-specific, developmentally appropriate psychiatric nursing care while ensuring patient and family comfort, safety, and dignity. This role requires a leader who communicates concerns proactively, models professionalism, and demonstrates behavior aligned with KVC’s mission and values: Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Open Honest Communication, Teamwork, and Continuous Improvement. This role demands more than oversight. It demands conviction. You will influence clinical standards, safeguard patient care, develop nursing talent, and strengthen psychiatric services that directly impact vulnerable youth and families. If you are a psychiatric nursing leader ready to elevate both people and systems — and want to work in an organization with a proven culture reflected in an Indeed Work Wellbeing Score of 83 — we invite you to lead with us.
