About The Position

The Associate Director of New Student Programs at Alvernia University is responsible for developing and implementing programs that facilitate the onboarding and integration of new students into the university community. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the overall manager and primary contact for new student and transitions-related programs, activities, and services.
  • Act as a liaison with Admissions to support a seamless transition from prospective to enrolled student.
  • Advocate for new students, ensuring their needs are met in alignment with university values.
  • Interface with all university departments to facilitate smooth transitions for admitted students.
  • Develop goals, objectives, and planned outcomes for new student programs that align with university goals.
  • Conceive, coordinate, implement, and evaluate collaborative programs and services with related university offices.
  • Approve expenditures, track expenses, and manage assigned budgets effectively.
  • Prepare reports, maintain official records, and provide assessment data for all new student programs.
  • Oversee the implementation and evaluation of new student, transfer, and family orientation programs in August and January.
  • Coordinate with university offices to ensure an efficient pre-arrival onboarding process for new students.
  • Serve as the liaison to academic deans, faculty members, and campus departments for Connection Day and Orientation programming.
  • Recruit, select, hire, train, and evaluate Orientation Weekend Leaders (OWLs) and other related staff.
  • Oversee the administration and implementation of all pre-orientation camps and activities.
  • Develop and administer assessment tools to review new student programs and recommend changes.
