About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Associate Director of Microcredentials and Experiential Learning [R0144848]. The Office of the Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and High-Impact Practices (AVPUEHIP) welcomes applications for the Associate Director of Microcredentials and Experiential Learning (ADMEL). This position is charged with implementing evidence-based best practices in microcredentials and experiential learning and will support the creation, development, and coordination of activities to facilitate campus-wide growth of microcredentials and experiential learning opportunities. The position works closely with the UNLV Office of Online Education and collaboratively with a wide variety of UNLV personnel and units to expand, support, coordinate, and highlight microcredentials and experiential learning at UNLV. Emphasizing the demonstration and assessment of critical workforce-relevant competencies and skills, UNLV's microcredential program is a central component of the university's focus on high-impact practices that support student success, consistent with UNLV's Top Tier Student Achievement and Career Development and Progression goals. Specifically, the ADMEL will support existing microcredentials and facilitate the growth and expansion of new for-credit and not for-credit microcredentials. Audiences for new microcredentials will include registered students, non-degree-seeking students, community members, and UNLV faculty and staff. Key areas of responsibility for this position in the realm of microcredentials include: (1) program coordination and development, planning, and process refinement, (2) collaboration with faculty, departments, and colleges on microcredential and badge development, (3) communication and training, (4) data analysis, assessment, and reporting, (5) badge issuance and management. In the realm of experiential learning, the ADMEL will support expansion of experiential learning as a high impact practice across the curriculum and in co- and extracurricular spaces. As a key member of the AVPUEHIP team, the ADMEL will work closely with Academic Affairs colleagues to ensure advancement of our mission to grow enrollment, promote excellence, be inclusive and equitable, innovate to provide leading-edge 21st century academic experiences, improve student success, and lay a strong foundation for positive student outcomes while at UNLV and in their post-graduate lives. All positions in Academic Affairs contribute to our core mission: to increase enrollment and promote equitable student success. This position shall collaborate with their supervisor to set annual goals that align with Top Tier initiatives and Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs (SVPAA) mission and identify and track core metrics to assess success. Like all Academic Affairs leaders, this position plays a crucial role in enrollment growth, removing barriers to student success, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to resources, working to eliminate the achievement gap, and providing outstanding services and support to students across the lifecycle. By addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support, this position will meaningfully contribute to the institution's commitment to expand access, grow enrollment, and promote equitable student success.
