The Musunuru lab is a research group within the Cardiovascular Institute at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. Our lab specializes in therapeutic gene editing, with a specific focus on using next-generation CRISPR tools for in vivo gene editing to address cardiovascular, metabolic, and other diseases. We are currently seeking to hire an associate director of gene editing to join our team and initiate, contribute, and oversee the development of projects to support and accelerate the translational work of the laboratory. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in biology, bioengineering, and/or molecular biology. Experience with in vitro and in vivo gene editing and/or gene therapy is highly desired. The primary responsibilities of the position include initiating, contributing to, and managing the development of multiple gene editing projects; assisting the research team in generating study reports that cover project development, research design, data collection, and quantitative analyses; assisting the research team in preparing manuscripts, publications, and grant applications; training and supervising staff, as well as interfacing with existing postdoctoral fellows and students in the laboratory; and overseeing recordkeeping for laboratory projects to facilitate the preparation of regulatory submissions. The candidate will work in close partnership with the Principal Investigators to ensure the success of all research studies. This position is contingent upon favorable funding.
