Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Application Services, this position will play a key role in designing, planning, selecting, implementing, enhancing, and developing technology solutions and operational support models across several functional areas and systems governed by RFSUNY. The Associate Director will assist in the development of strategy, processes, skills, and operational practices to support continuous improvements in the core RF business activities and business alignment to effectively translate business strategy and objectives into technological capability. The Associate Director of Business Applications will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of business applications and software solutions that support the organization's operations, productivity, and strategic goals. This role plays a crucial part in driving technological innovation, efficiency, and business process optimization.

  • Maximize effectiveness and minimize costs related to enterprise-wide IT applications.
  • Develop and encourage strong collaborative working relationships with campuses, SUNY, and RF stakeholders.
  • Participate in planning processes to align technology investments with current and future business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the IT leadership team to define and execute the IT strategy and vision.
  • Collaborate with business units to prioritize projects and manage the application portfolio.
  • Align business application initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for leveraging technology to gain a competitive advantage.

  • Oversee data integration and collaborate with technical developers and campus team members.
  • Evaluate and select third-party software and technology vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, service level agreements, and pricing.
  • Identify areas for process optimization and automation using technology.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users on business applications.
  • Bachelor's in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years progressively more complex technical and managerial experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Open to consider candidates without a degree requirement but must have 10-15 years of experience in a leadership field with supervision of a team.
  • Experience in IT leadership roles, with a focus on ERP applications.
  • Experience as an effective team leader, including managing, mentoring, and coaching employees.
  • Experience in application management/support, including management of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience working with business users to establish priorities and manage expectations.
  • Knowledge of IT policies, standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity controls and awareness of regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, CMMC, etc., preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance, highly collaborative environment.
  • Possess a high degree of professional confidence and credibility.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and technologies.
  • Understanding business process analysis and optimization.
