About The Position

Essential Functions (Responsibilities): • Develops an annual solicitation strategy for a defined portfolio of donors and prospects • Actively manages a local, regional and national portfolio of around 100 individual, corporate and foundation prospects • Designs, implements, and manages a comprehensive, proactive development plan focused on expanding and enhancing individual, corporate and foundation relationships by directing and coordinating activities related to obtaining broader levels of support • Maintains a minimum of five visits per week with portfolio prospects • Manages expanding corporate fundraising program, identifying and soliciting new prospects; works with staff on related cultivation and stewardship activities • As directed by supervisor, performs significant grant writing and proposal development (including budget development) and manages stewardship reports • Researches new funding possibilities from individuals, corporations, foundations, government and other grant making entities • Supports and assists the Senior Director of Development in the execution of the museum’s fundraising priorities and campaigns • In consultation with the Senior Director of Development and the Executive Director & CEO, formulates and implements annual and long-range strategies associated with the museum’s strategic plan • As directed, provides assistance to members of the Gilcrease Advisory Council involved in fundraising activities • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proven managerial and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and swiftly identify and solve problems
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information
  • Strong writing and critical thinking skills
  • Flexible, outgoing and energetic
  • Familiarity with museum/arts fundraising activities; enthusiasm for the arts
  • Proficient in PC or Mac software applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Bachelor’s Degree in in Arts Management, Communication, Business, Marketing or a related field
  • Proven experience with planned giving vehicles
  • Higher education fundraising practices
