The Associate Director of Development is a frontline fundraiser responsible for the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects. The Associate Director will identify, engage, and solicit donors at all life stages, including prospect research, development of effective solicitation strategies and stewardship of donors throughout the major giving process. The Associate Director will typically maintain a donor portfolio with a focus on gifts of $50,000 or above. The Associate Director may require frequent travel and meetings on and off campus during regular and non-traditional business hours and is expected to operate with high levels of autonomy. The Whiting School of Engineering seeks an energetic and motivated frontline fundraiser to join our Development & Alumni Relations team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Development, the Associate Director of Development will maintain a nationwide discovery portfolio, focusing on identifying and qualifying individual constituents with the capacity to make six and seven-figure gifts. In addition to the duties described above, the Associate Director of Development will: Manage a nationwide discovery portfolio of strategically identified constituent populations, moving individuals through a donor pipeline from initial outreach to cultivation and solicitation. This requires conducting a target of 150 virtual or in-person meetings annually. Actively contribute to the identification and qualification of new major gift donor prospects for the Whiting School of Engineering. Serve as the primary development liaison to 2-3 departments within the Whiting School of Engineering. Meet regularly with faculty to encourage participation and engagement in development activities and support philanthropic initiatives across department advisory boards. Collaborate closely with internal constituent engagement and donor relations partners and assist in the execution of regional events as needed. Partner with Development and Alumni Relations colleagues across Johns Hopkins University and Medicine to align strategies and maximize outcomes.
