This position, in close coordination with the Executive Director of Advancement, serves as a major gift officer for the UAS Office of Advancement. As a fundraiser, you will interact with internal development and university colleagues in addition to the UA Foundation. You will strive to build and maintain relationships with UAS alumni, friends and donors. The Assistant Director will attend educational training two times per year for nationally recognized institutions or organizations that further philanthropic endeavors. Under the guidance of Chancellor Aparna Palmer, the University of Alaska Southeast is dedicated to creating a destination workplace and a world class university. Starting salary is commensurate, based on education and experience. As the Associate Director of Development, your hands-on experience in higher education will prepare you to understand the university's mission, environment, and operating requirements. To thrive in this position, you will bring your expert knowledge of the principles and practice of fundraising for higher education. The gift officer plays an important role in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment and requires the ability to think strategically, multi-task, and demonstrate professionalism at all times. You should have experience with fundraising databases such as Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
