About The Position

USF Health Development and Alumni Relations provides the fundraising support for the colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health as well as other USF Health entities. The primary responsibilities of a Director of Development USF Health are to develop and implement strategies for identifying, cultivating, and successfully soliciting individuals, corporations and foundations and grateful patients for major gifts to support the Morsani College of Medicine. The Associate Director of Development for USF Health provides fundraising support for departments, institutes and centers within the Morsani College of Medicine. The incumbent will build a portfolio of prospects focused on grateful patients and families through both traditional prospecting and lead generation from physician and provider partners. Building relationships with department chairs, providers and researchers will be critical for the success of this position. This position works closely with colleagues in MCOM departments and the USF Foundation to support specific giving programs and campaigns for assigned department(s), institutes and/or centers. The incumbent has metric based goals and carries a portfolio that spans the assigned areas.

Requirements

  • This position requires Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience related to development or other appropriate professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years of directly related experience in development and fundraising preferably in a healthcare or higher education setting is preferred.
  • Patient engagement (grateful patient) experiences will also receive preferential consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies potential major donors based on information from Donor Research, other development officers, and external contacts.
  • Cultivates prospects for major, corporate, leadership, foundation, or planned gifts.
  • Has extensive contact with potential donors, corporate officials, foundation officers and/or financial advisors to generate gift proposals.
  • Coordinates outreach programs and development teams to facilitate gifts over a specific geographical area or with specific businesses.
  • In conjunction with USF officials, identifies needs that meet strategic objectives and create a strategic plan to achieve the objectives.
  • Drafts proposals, letters and agreements to close planned gifts.
  • A intermediate knowledge of fundraising processes and techniques will be expected.
  • Comfort using Microsoft office applications and Ellucian CRM Database.
  • General project management skills and portfolio development and management experience.
