Responsible for soliciting and securing sustaining gifts in support of the Collins College of Business and College of Engineering and Computer Science. The primary objective of the sustaining-level giving program is to increase the number of donors who give annually to TU at the $1,000-$10,000 level, ultimately increasing the amount of private annual support raised each year. Working closely with the Director of Development and the Annual Fund team on developing strategies and increasing fundraising for the Dean's Circle, and upgrades and acquisition within the sustaining giving prospect pools, will assist in raising more private support each year and enhancing the major gift pipeline.

  • Maintains an active schedule of identification, solicitation, cultivation and stewardship calls and visits to donors and new prospects with philanthropic capacity.
  • Manages a personal portfolio of ~150 prospects and donors with specific goals and benchmarks intended to secure leadership annual gift in the range of $1,000-$10,000+.
  • Staff key faculty on individual and corporate donor calls including setting and attending appointments, events, and follow-up.
  • Ensure that proper briefings are developed.
  • When appropriate, develops formal proposals to donor prospects for support and works with Senior Director of Advancement Communications on proposals.
  • Collaborates appropriately and effectively with University departments and Advancement colleagues to help engage them in ways that advance TU's leadership annual gift level fundraising objectives.
  • Analyzes and evaluates current and past donor trends for college constituencies, and targets segments of donors and prospects for personalized attention.
  • Helps design a fundraising agenda that will support and advance the academic agendas of the Collins College of Business and the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Development for Collins College and for the College of Engineering and Computer Science in setting specific dollar and donor goals for the college and meeting these fundraising goals annually.
  • Coordinates the development activities of volunteer advisory boards as appropriate and support Development Directors in expanding board membership, advancing board agendas, reporting to the board, and working with individual board members as fundraising volunteers.
  • Assists the Annual and Affinity Giving office in identifying major annual fund prospects for the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
  • Works with the Development staff on special funding, including special college projects.
  • Attends monthly meetings of the major gifts team in the Advancement Office to work out strategies.
  • Monitors and reports on progress toward dollar goals, retention and acquisition of donors for the Collins College of Business and College of Engineering and Computer Science.
  • Handles other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Must have 2 or more years of experience in higher education development or non-profit fundraising setting.
  • Experience building relationships internally and externally with donor and/or strategic partners.
  • Excellent written and communications skills.
  • Strong customer services skills.
  • Willingness to travel on occasion and ability to work some nights and weekends as required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Experience in campaign fundraising.
  • Established track record of cultivating, soliciting, and closing leadership annual philanthropic gifts ($1,000-10,000+) for higher education institutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively about engaging donors nationally, and to develop plans of action and follow through.
  • Superior problem-solving ability demonstrating maturity and sound judgment.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the company.
  • Ability to work with little supervision but collaboratively in a complex and energetic environment.
  • Ability to professionally represent the university by demonstrating pride and loyalty.
  • Master's degree and 3+ years experience in higher education, development, fundraising or equivalent experience in a non-profit setting.
  • Demonstrated experience and a high level of comfort in initiating contact with non-donors and lapsed donors.
  • Ability to create a climate of confidence and trust on the part of donors, development colleagues and faculty.
  • High energy, independent, self-starter.
  • Proficiency with Raiser's Edge NXT.
  • Alumnus/a status.
