The Bickelhaupt arboretum Education & Events Center Associate Director position is a full-time role, seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the center's educational programming and event services. This includes generating revenue through programs and rentals, cultivating a diverse calendar of events, managing relationships with vendors and clients, and developing enriching educational experiences for lifelong learners of all ages. This role is full-time including the availability to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.

  • Achieve annual revenue goals through facility rentals, programs, and partnerships.
  • Recruit, schedule, and coordinate events including conferences, weddings, class reunions, community meetings, and corporate functions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all event inquiries, ensuring professional and timely communication with potential and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with caterers, decorators, IT technicians, and other vendors to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Develop pricing structures, contracts, and marketing strategies to attract and retain clients.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs for audiences of all ages, with a focus on community enrichment, lifelong learning, and environmental education.
  • Coordinate indoor and outdoor learning experiences that utilize the facility's natural and built resources.
  • Partner with schools, businesses, and community organizations to expand outreach and engagement.
  • Manage program and event budgets, reporting regularly on progress toward revenue goals.
  • Oversee event and program calendars, facility use schedules, and staffing plans.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, accessibility, and operational standards.
  • Develop and implement promotional strategies in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Supervise part-time staff, volunteers, and contracted facilitators as needed.
  • Represent the organization in the community and at networking events to promote the Center's services and mission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success and sustainability of the Center.
  • Associate of Arts degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in event coordination, program development, or a similar role is required.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
  • Experience with social media and online marketing is preferred.
