The Associate Director of Academics will play a key role in supporting the development, expansion, and operational execution of Essen Health Care’s Academics Program and its various Centers of Excellence (CoEs). This individual will work closely with the Director of Academics to strengthen healthcare workforce development initiatives, enhance experiential training programs, and build a sustainable pipeline of qualified clinical and non-clinical professionals to meet the organization’s growing needs. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong program development skills, relationship building abilities, project management experience, and a deep commitment to advancing healthcare education and workforce readiness.

  • Program Development & Management Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of workforce development programs across multiple Centers of Excellence.
  • Assist in building new CoE models aligned with emerging organizational needs, healthcare trends, and clinical specialties.
  • Manage day-to-day program operations, ensuring quality, compliance, and alignment with departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify workforce gaps and create targeted education and training pathways.
  • Workforce Pipeline & Academic Partnerships Support strategic relationships with universities, colleges, training institutions, and community partners to expand talent pipelines.
  • Assist in developing experiential learning opportunities, including shadowing, internships, rotations, fellowships, and bridge programs.
  • Ensure seamless onboarding, engagement, and progression of students, interns, and trainees throughout their experience at Essen.
  • Operational Support & Coordination Track program outcomes, workforce metrics, and performance indicators; provide regular reports and recommendations to the Director.
  • Coordinate logistics for academic programs, including schedules, cohorts, faculty/preceptor assignments, and training materials.
  • Maintain documentation and program compliance requirements as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Work collaboratively across departments—including clinical operations, talent acquisition, HR, and leadership teams—to support workforce initiatives.
  • Serve as a point of contact for academic partners, trainees, and internal leaders to ensure successful program execution.
  • Participate in meetings, presentations, and planning sessions related to CoE and Academics strategic initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Education, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in academic program management, workforce development, healthcare operations, or related fields.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Experience working with academic institutions, clinical training programs, or healthcare pipeline development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with clinical and non-clinical healthcare workforce structures.
