The Department of Accounting embodies excellence in research, teaching, and industry engagement in the area of Accounting. The Department of Accounting offers courses to earn a BS degree in Accounting. At the graduate level, the department offers an MS degree in Accounting (MAC). In addition, the Department of Accounting participates in the Poole College of Management's Master of Business Administration degree and the other degree programs in the college. The Accounting faculty conduct high-quality, impactful research in all areas of Accounting. NC State's Jenkins MAC program is preparing graduates to be tomorrow's leaders in the important and versatile field of accounting. The program's curriculum is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of accounting and business practices, as well as a rigorous technical accounting education. Students choose between two tracks, public accounting or business & industry, to meet the needs of their career goals in the accounting profession. Optional concentrations or elective classes can be focused in the areas of Enterprise Risk Management, Information Technology or Tax Strategy.
