Welcome to the Undeclared and Academic Advising Center (UAAC). We support all undergraduate students at Cal State Fullerton, (CSUF) and our goal is to empower students to seek support and take the lead throughout their academic journey. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Academic Advising leadership team as the Associate Director of Academic Advising (Administrator I), leading and mentoring the college-based advising teams, including the Undeclared and the Academic Advising Center. The Associate Director of Academic Advising will lead the College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) and College of Natural Science and Mathematics (NSM) Academic Advising Teams focusing on delivering equitable, top-notch advising for all new and continuing students. Our Academic Advising mission is to work in a collaborative partnership with students, a shared responsibility, where the advisor and student are equally invested in the educational process and holistic development of the student with inclusive assets, needs, and backgrounds. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness. In conjunction with Advising senior leadership and college leadership, the Associate Director of Academic Advising will ensure all students will be successful in navigating their academic journey, starting at matriculation through graduation. The Cal State Fullerton academic advising enterprise is a critical unit in the university's objective to eliminate inequities in student success outcomes. Further, the Associate Director of Academic Advising will partner with colleagues to lead the execution and implementation of student success initiatives and strategies of the university. Oversees the advisors and practices in the College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) and College of Natural Science and Mathematics (NSM) Academic Advising Teams as well as college-specific advising related campaigns. In addition, the Associate Director of Academic Advising with the Academic Success and Transfer Advising portfolio leads and manages campus-wide advising programs related to students' academic success and transfer success and oversees staffs in these programs, such as the Academic Success coaches in the Academic Success Advising Program, Transfer Success Advising Specialists in the Transfer Advising Program, and the RESET Academic Notice Program Coordinator for the campus-wide RESET Academic Notice program. The Associate Director of Academic Advising collaborates with university and college leaders across divisions (e.g., Student Affairs, IT, etc.) to lead and execute programs and initiatives that promote transfer success, such as the Flexible Transfer Pathways Program with community colleges, Chancellor's Office Transfer Success Pathways Program, and the Aspen CSUF-Fullerton College Transfer Program. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Associate Director collaborates with college advising directors, Associate Deans, college Advising Team members, faculty academic advisors, and other advising/counseling professionals to execute and implement strategic interventions, programs, and initiatives so that all students will achieve their goals to succeed academically and personally. In supervising professional academic advising staff members in the campus-wide advising programs, the Associate Director of Academic Advising is responsible for the development of the professional advising staff.
