About The Position

Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a strategic and results-driven leader to become a staff member of the GETC Mission Systems Engineering Team. In this role you will be responsible for driving the long-term vision and execution of engineering capabilities across all disciplines. You will build and lead high-performing teams, foster strong global and local stakeholder relationships, and represent GETC MiS Puerto Rico in forums as a respected technical and organizational leader. This position is based at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience.
  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing complex programs and cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering technical solutions within the aerospace or similar safety-critical industries.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a long-term engineering roadmap aligned with business goals, in partnership with global and local stakeholders.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and engineering managers across software, electronics, and mechanical domains.
  • Promote a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
  • Strengthen the technical depth and breadth of the organization to meet increasing engineering ownership and delegation.
  • Manage organizational performance across cost, schedule, quality, and technical metrics.
  • Ensure predictable project execution and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements relevant to aerospace systems.
  • Build trusted relationships with cross-functional teams, global program partners, and senior leaders.
  • Lead efforts in talent acquisition, development, mentoring, and retention.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards, processes, and regulatory requirements.
