About The Position

Reporting to the Sr Director, the Associate Director of Portfolio Strategy, External Engagement, WW Medical Cell Therapy supports BMS cell therapy external engagement by leading end-to-end planning and execution of the WW Medical congress program (major/global and regional congresses), ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence, and compliant scientific exchange. This role partners closely with internal disease leads and cross-functional teams to plan and execute engagement across key external audiences such as CAR T treaters and APPs. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of project and team management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for compliant, patient-centered external engagement.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or significant experience with stakeholder and organizational engagement or partnerships
  • BA/BS degree minimum requirement--in area relevant to pharmaceutical industry/ Life Sciences preferred) or advanced degree. Pharm.D., PhD, MD, MS with general knowledge of pharmaceutical operations, i.e., advocacy, medical affairs, clinical development, regulatory, commercialization,
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work across multiple teams to ensure ongoing alignment
  • Proven track record of managing complex interactions
  • Able to innovate, analyze and solve problems with attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally
  • Previous cross-functional experience is desirable as this position requires a high degree of interaction with teams encompassing Congress Excellence, Medical Communications, Medical Affairs, Corporate Affairs, CI and other enterprise-wide teams
  • Highly collaborative, with a track record of building and maintaining cross-functional relationships, and able to communicate business topics effectively with senior management, peers, and others
  • Ability to lead initiatives and represent the company when appropriate, while also operating effectively within a large complex organization and within small working teams
  • This position may require 20-30% travel to attend meetings, conferences, and events.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual congress strategy and calendar for WW Medical Cell Therapy (prioritization/tiering, objectives, deliverables, timelines)
  • Lead Medical aspects of the cross-functional congress planning in working closely with Congress Excellence and WW/US Medical Therapeutic Teams, Commercial, Publications, CI, Corporate Affairs, and agency partners (as applicable)
  • Drive congress deliverables: congress objectives, medical presence (as appropriate), internal briefings and leadership pre and post congress briefings.
  • Coordinate KOL/HCP engagement plans at priority cell therapy congress (1:1 meetings, expert pull-through, compliant interactions)
  • Develop on site debrief platform for in congress discussion
  • Plan and coordinate leadership engagements with key stakeholders at congresses in partnership with cross TA matrix
  • Collaborate with internal disease leads to ensure alignment on strategic medical initiatives and consistent external messaging.
  • Coordinate and participate in outreach activities, public relations events, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.
  • Prepare and maintain insights reporting for senior management to highlight key trends (US and ex-US) and inform strategy
  • Thoroughly understand the complex and evolving healthcare environment and landscape and ensure that all interactions and strategies are implemented accordingly and compliantly.
  • Partner with BMS senior leaders across multiple departments to coordinate and optimize interactions external partners
  • Support activities both internally and externally, including processes and procedures.
  • Lead assigned workstreams and support cross-functional alignment in determining company representation or participation in professional medical societies’/associations’ initiatives and interactions, including corporate roundtables, forums, and science/clinical interactions.
  • Support budget planning and tracking for assigned activities; monitor expenditures and flag risks/opportunities, revising plans as needed.
  • Input data into the departmental financial tracking system as required.
  • Provide periodic reports and analyses to leadership and team members as needed.
  • Ensure all activities comply with company policy and legal and regulatory requirements.

Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
