About The Position

The Associate Director, Marketing for Atherosclerosis Scientific Strategy at Merck Sharp & Dohme is a pivotal role focused on the launch of a novel treatment for hypercholesterolemia. This position involves developing and executing scientific and medical marketing strategies, engaging with scientific leaders, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure a successful product launch in the cardiovascular market. The role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in healthcare marketing and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of healthcare industry experience, including at least 3 years in strategic marketing or brand management.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving, analytical critical thinking and planning skills.
  • Ability to leverage data analytics and/or customer and market insights to make business decisions.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills as demonstrated through experience in strategy & marketing business case communication, sales interface, direct customer engagement and/or sales presentations.
  • Strong leadership, experience influencing without direct authority, navigating complex or matrix organizations and working successfully with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to translate science/clinical data into marketing strategies, medical education and/or conference initiatives.
  • Knowledge of health care ecosystem, market access environment, and drivers of value in health care.
  • Understanding of omnichannel marketing, digital and non-digital channels.
  • A growth mindset, strong collaboration and business agility.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of integrity and ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director Scientific PMO in driving foundational scientific strategy by leveraging the L3 process.
  • Lead the engagement strategy for Scientific Leaders (SLs) and build relationships with Key SLs.
  • Partner with SLs, key enterprise stakeholders, and the scientific agency of record to develop and execute an omnichannel medical education strategy and corresponding content.
  • Collaborate with GEMS and Medical Affairs to plan and execute Group Input Meetings.
  • Develop and execute the annual congress plan for Atherosclerosis, including necessary resources and activities, such as applicable customer meetings.
  • Partner with Competitive Intelligence to continuously gather and share key insights regarding the brand, customers, and the marketplace.
  • Collaborate with ASCVD CATs to ensure a cohesive and holistic approach.
