About The Position

The Associate Director, MA/HEOR Biostatistics at Bristol-Myers Squibb is responsible for leading biostatistical efforts in market access and health economics outcomes research. This role involves developing strategies for successful market access, designing clinical trials, and ensuring the scientific soundness of analyses. The position requires effective communication with clinical and regulatory partners, as well as external stakeholders, to enhance the company's reputation and support the development of innovative therapies.

Requirements

  • PhD in statistics, biostatistics, or related scientific field with 6+ years of experience, or MS with 8+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in scientific computing/programming (SAS, R, or Python).
  • Experience in clinical trials, drug development, and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Expertise in statistical/clinical trials methodology and its application.
  • Good understanding of regulatory and HTA landscape.
  • Demonstrated collaboration, leadership, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise beyond biostatistics by researching medical literature, regulatory and HTA documents.
  • Contribute to the preparation of development strategies for market access and price negotiation.
  • Design innovative and efficient clinical trials, including study population and endpoints selection.
  • Translate scientific questions into statistical terms and vice versa.
  • Challenge collaborator assumptions based on facts and provide insights based on available information.
  • Ensure all analyses for MA/HEOR are scientifically sound and support regulatory approval and market access.
  • Present summary data and analysis results clearly and transparently.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical and regulatory partners and external opinion leaders.
  • Build external reputation through engagement in working groups and collaborations.
  • Review protocols, statistical analysis plans, and other study-level documents.
  • Manage consistency and adherence to standards within an indication or therapeutic area.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of statistical methodology for Market Access/HEOR analysis needs.
  • Engage as a matrix team member on project teams, acting as a scientific and strategic partner.
  • Comply with BMS processes and SOPs, ensuring quality of deliverables.
  • Develop and advise team members, fostering a culture of inclusiveness and respect for diversity.
