About The Position

The Associate Director of Laboratory Services oversees a multi-disciplinary team to meet regulatory standards and optimize efficiency within budget constraints. Fosters ethical business practices, ensures customer-focused systems, and upholds accountability in clinical and support staff. Responsibilities also includes in staff management, collaboration with executives on policies, and development of clinical care and patient education programs.

Requirements

  • Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
  • Management experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
  • Master's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures maximum efficiency and responsiveness within budgeted resource allocations.
  • Manages a multi-disciplinary, multi-skilled workforce to comply with standards set by accrediting, licensing, regulatory agencies, and the Public Health Trust.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with all service-providing disciplines while conducting business ethically and respecting customers' rights.
  • Develops and implements customer-focused systems, processes, and behaviors.
  • Establishes systems of accountability for clinical, clerical, and support personnel to ensure timely and accurate customer service.
  • Provides leadership through developing, communicating, implementing, and evaluating the mission, goals, and objectives of the Lab Services area.
  • Develops ongoing Performance Improvement plan, as well as communicates, implements, and evaluates, aligning with the philosophy of the Executive Performance Improvement Council and the department Performance Improvement Council.
  • Ensures appropriate technology and systems are used and analyzed to convey information effectively.
  • Conducts staff recruitment, retention, evaluation, and motivation.
  • Implements department goals and responsibilities.
  • Responsible for staff development participation in orientation, training, and mandatory educational programs.
  • Collaborates with executives in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and policies related to fiscal, human, materiel, and informational resources.
  • Develops and manages appropriate clinical care, efficient case management, and effective patient and family education programs.
  • Ensures continuity of care, early discharge planning, and effective utilization of Public Health Trust and community resources.
  • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
