About The Position

California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) invites applications for the Associate Director, IT Infrastructure Services position. The incumbent is responsible for the technical and administrative management of the data center, desktop services, and cloud computing services, as well as the management of technical staff supporting the operations and maintenance of enterprise-level IT infrastructure services. The incumbent develops, deploys, and maintains a faculty, staff, and student workstation computing program that includes endpoint services, software evaluation, testing, and distribution; anti-virus protection, security software patching; new technology evaluation; laptop configuration and security; and desktop forensics. The incumbent provides leadership, technical support, planning, and project management for all enterprise-level servers, storage, appliances, operating systems, identity management, desktop operations, and infrastructure-related applications. The incumbent develops procedures, policies, and standards for the daily operations and life cycle of computing systems and services used by the University and manages the fiscal and human resources associated with them.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business Information Systems, or related field.
  • Two years of supervisory/management experience in computer operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern server operating systems including Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux.
  • Working knowledge of disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Storage Area Networks, and cloud computing environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Public Administration.
  • Knowledge of IT work classification standards and performance evaluation standards.
  • Familiarity with CSU CENIC network topology and Oracle database organization.
