About The Position

Fairfield University is seeking a content marketing specialist with strong writing and project management skills to join our Marketing & Communications team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications & Community Relations, this role involves editorial assistance for the Fairfield University Magazine, other leading University publications, and spearheading marketing initiatives for the new Center for Arts & Minds, as well as Fairfield University's Art Museum and Quick Center for the Arts. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of exceptional writing, storytelling, project management, and marketing skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, arts administration, English/creative writing, or a related field required; master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, ideally in higher education.
  • Strong background in content development, editing, creative direction, and publication management.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written materials.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing marketing strategies that enhance organizational visibility and audience engagement.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Center for Arts & Minds, the Quick Center, and the Fairfield University Art Museum, to create and implement comprehensive marketing strategies.
  • Promote the University as a premier destination for arts and culture within the University and the broader community.
  • Oversee daily marketing and communications activities for the arts, ensuring smooth operations and effective outreach.
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, and partner relationships.
  • Craft and curate compelling stories that highlight the diverse and impactful work of Fairfield University and the Center for Arts & Minds.
  • Assist in the creation and strategy of engaging content for the Fairfield University Magazine.
  • Develop and execute high-quality stories ensuring that content aligns with the University's mission and engages both internal and external audiences.
  • Design and execute targeted campaigns to increase the visibility of the arts and community programming.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the University's communications and marketing objectives.
