RTX ES Infrastructure - You will be shaping the enterprise Infrastructure Tools, Automation, and Data Architecture strategy. This role is responsible for defining the architectural vision, standards, and guardrails that enable scalable, secure, and repeatable infrastructure automation across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including network, security, identity, collaboration, and end user infrastructure domains.. You will design enterprise reference architectures and integration patterns that connect infrastructure platforms, automation tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and business systems, enabling a fully automated, codified, and data-driven enterprise ecosystem. The role emphasizes Everything as Code (EaC), platform interoperability, and infrastructure data as first-class architectural concerns, ensuring infrastructure capabilities are repeatable, observable, and governed at scale. This is a strategic architecture role focused on setting standards, designing frameworks, and guiding delivery teams, rather than direct implementation. Success requires strong architectural judgment, deep automation domain expertise, and the ability to influence senior leaders, enterprise architects, and platform teams to align infrastructure automation strategies with broader business and digital transformation objectives.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, automation engineering, or DevOps leadership.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven expertise in infrastructure-as-code (IaC), configuration management, and orchestration across hybrid and multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, OCI).
  • Deep knowledge of automation and orchestration tools: Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, PowerShell, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated success designing and implementing enterprise-scale automation frameworks that improve velocity, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, virtualization, containers, and modern infrastructure stacks.
  • Experience influencing senior leadership and driving cross-functional alignment on automation strategy.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to mentor and guide architects, engineers, and technical stakeholders.

  • Exposure to observability, configuration management, and infrastructure data modeling

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise-level infrastructure and integration architectures to enable “Everything as Code” (EaC) across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Design reusable reference architectures, frameworks, and standards for multi-cloud automation and platform integration.
  • Define integration patterns connecting infrastructure tools, CI/CD pipelines, and business platforms.
  • Contribute to the enterprise infrastructure data strategy, ensuring systems are observable, auditable, and actionable.
  • Evaluate emerging multi-cloud IaC tools, automation frameworks, and technologies; recommend adoption strategies.
  • Mentor and guide architects, engineers, and stakeholders on best practices for codification, automation, and integration.
  • Collaborate with business and technology leaders to ensure strategies align with organizational goals and deliver measurable impact.
