About The Position

The Associate Director, Global Trade - Customs, will be responsible for interpreting, executing, establishing and implementing global trade policies and processes. They will ensure consistency of customs practices and guidance to operations sites importing across the Advanced Structures Strategic Business Unit. As a Leader, you will be responsible for a team that focuses on all aspects of the import and customs process for Advanced Structures, including U.S and non-U.S. sites (EMEA and APAC) regulations. This position will partner closely with business, our Central GT organization and our brokers to drive our Customs program to the next level.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a university degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience in Global Trade or Customs Management OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years' experience in Global Trade or Customs Management.
  • Experience and expertise in U.S. Customs laws and regulations (CBP, EAR, ITAR, etc).
  • Prior experience leading a global trade compliance team.
  • Prior experience leading cross-functional projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Customs Broker.
  • Experience with US Tariffs and Free Trade Agreements.
  • Experience leading executive presentations.
  • Experience with EMEA and APAC regional and national regulations on Customs.

Responsibilities

  • Drives strategic analysis and planning efforts, while leading multiple programs/projects ensuring adherence to scope and schedules.
  • Work with regional experts to ensure that changes in local Customs requirements are reflected.
  • Review and present plans and progress reports to senior/executive leaders.
  • Identify and respond to program problems and lead solutions with your team.
  • Builds strong and extensive working relationships and networks internally and externally.
  • Support investigations and reviews of possible GT escapes and disclosures.
