About The Position
The Associate Director for the Tutoring Center at Loyola University Chicago provides essential leadership for learning assistance and academic support services within the university. This role involves overseeing the operations of the Tutoring Center and its satellite locations, as well as engaging in outreach efforts to faculty and students. Reporting directly to the Director of Student Transitions and Academic Partnerships, the Associate Director is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of tutoring services and maintaining high standards of academic support. In this position, the Associate Director will manage the day-to-day operations of the Tutoring Center, which includes implementing organizational and technological systems for data collection and analysis, managing tutoring appointment processes, and ensuring efficient front desk operations. The role also involves hiring, supervising, training, and evaluating Tutoring Center staff in accordance with university policies. The Associate Director will direct all peer tutoring and supplemental instruction initiatives, including the training and assessment of tutors, while also maintaining the center's national certification and reporting outcomes to relevant stakeholders. The Associate Director will play a key role in supporting various university events and initiatives, such as New Student Orientation and other academic programs. This position requires collaboration with faculty, advisors, and other departments to enhance academic support services across all campuses, including the development of online tutoring options. The Associate Director will also be responsible for preparing reports, maintaining a centralized calendar of services, and conducting outreach to expand the Tutoring Center's resources and services. Additionally, the role involves analyzing course data to identify areas needing academic support and developing marketing strategies to promote the Tutoring Center's offerings.
