About The Position

The Associate Director for Student Conduct at the University of South Florida is responsible for overseeing the investigation and adjudication of misconduct cases involving student organizations and incidents occurring mainly in non-residential and off-campus areas. This role includes managing sexual misconduct cases, Title IX/VAWA, and Title VI cases, while also supervising staff and collaborating with various campus and community partners to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The position aims to promote a safe environment that fosters personal accountability and supports student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years related exempt experience, including two years of experience managing exempt level employees.
  • Experience in managing student and student organization conduct, investigations, and adjudication procedures.
  • Experience managing issues of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct in a university setting.
  • Training and/or certification in Title IX and conflict mediation.
  • Knowledge of student conduct database systems (e.g. Maxient).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of student organization misconduct, sexual misconduct, and student conduct incidents primarily occurring in non-residential and off-campus areas using the conduct database system.
  • Manage the adjudication of Title VI and Title IX cases.
  • Collaborate with SCED Assistant Directors to assign incoming conduct referrals and investigate various student conduct cases under the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Serve as a Hearing Officer to adjudicate cases and assign appropriate sanctions.
  • Assist in compiling data on student organization misconduct, non-residential and off-campus conduct incidents, as well as Title VI, Title IX, and VAWA cases.
  • Supervise an Assistant Director, offering guidance, constructive feedback, and leadership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with campus and community partners to deliver essential training for SCED staff and University Conduct Board (UCB) members on compliance with Title VI, Title IX, VAWA, Clery regulations, and other relevant student conduct topics.
  • Identify professional development opportunities for SCED staff that promote continuous learning and professional advancement.
  • Represent SCED on the Title VI/SCED and Title IX/SCED case management teams.
  • Provide student conduct information as needed on matters related to Title VI, Title IX, VAWA, and Clery.
  • Represent the Director at meetings as needed.
