About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Administration, Management, Organizational Administration, Public Administration, Labor Relations, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Five years of professional-level human resources experience.
  • Demonstrated HR experience in a higher education environment.
  • Management, supervision, and/or administrative experience.
  • Experience with applicant tracking and employee management systems.
  • Experience in developing and interpreting HR policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in human resource management or related field.
  • Experience overseeing HR functions for multiple departments.
  • Experience with HRIS and Data Analytics for reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Shared AHW Human Resources units providing HR support and payroll processing for AHW employees.
  • Facilitate organization-wide processes such as strategic planning and goal setting.
  • Engage and implement AHW's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Collaborate with departments and stakeholders to execute Shared AHW HR initiatives.
  • Direct academic professional and civil service search processes.
  • Provide technical advice and problem-solving assistance regarding personnel issues.
  • Oversee Payroll Operations for Shared Services Units.
  • Serve as an advisor on the Illini Union Executive Team for operational and strategic planning.
  • Develop and oversee department HR budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Provide centralized HR resources including talent acquisition strategies and new hire onboarding.
  • Participate in succession management and workforce planning with senior leadership.
  • Oversee the Performance Management program and salary recommendations.
  • Assist in developing and administering HR policies and procedures.
  • Supervise maintenance of applicant and employee files.
  • Conduct job audits and determine position upgrades and classification changes.
  • Interpret and apply immigration policies related to visas and PERM processes.
  • Support staff with HR policy interpretation and conflict resolution.
  • Investigate complaints and recommend disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Serve on Campus Management Team for Collective Bargaining Agreements negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutes, rules, policies, and labor contracts.
  • Coordinate employment practices to achieve diversity goals and maintain non-discriminatory practices.
  • Ensure data integrity and usability of employee data through audits and controls.
  • Engage in research and analysis of HR trends and continuous process improvement.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $95,000 - $105,000 based on experience and qualifications.
