The Associate Directors from the Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship team play a key role in advancing the Archdiocese of San Antonio’s mission of evangelization and missionary discipleship through a collaborative, pastoral approach that supports parish and diocesan ministry leaders. Each Associate Director will help shape and evaluate pastoral plans, contribute to ongoing formation efforts, and assist in fostering vibrant parish communities of faith across all stages of life. The Associate Director of Children & Family Ministry provides direct support to the Director of Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship, to advance the archdiocesan vision and mission in the areas of children’s formation (elementary age), family ministry and sacramental preparation for First Communion and First Reconciliation. This position is active in outreach to parishes and deaneries throughout the Archdiocese with an emphasis on formation for parish leaders. Formation may take place through parish visits, deanery meetings, developing and giving workshops and trainings, and the implementation of archdiocesan guidelines and initiatives related to children & family ministry. The fundamental basis of this role is an integration of the New Evangelization and Missionary Discipleship in pastoral de conjunto to serve the multicultural pastoral needs of children, youth, young adults, adults (as couples, and men and women as individuals) and seniors to intentionally build the domestic church.
