About The Position

The Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) at Verizon is responsible for leading a team of FP&A professionals and providing strategic financial guidance to the SVP-CIO Corporate Systems organization. This role involves managing financial reporting, operational analysis, and executive reviews, while also driving continuous process improvements and efficiencies. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights that support business growth and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience in finance or related fields.
  • Management and people leading experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workplace Applications.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise financial systems and budgeting/planning software applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Telecommunications industry.
  • Experience in IT and Technology industry.
  • A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
  • Experience with Looker business intelligence platform.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a staff of three FP&A professionals.
  • Act as the CFO for the SVP-CIO Corporate Systems organization, providing proactive financial guidance.
  • Own the development and communication of financial plans and forecasts, including reporting and analysis.
  • Evaluate business results and provide strategic guidance during the analysis process.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on complex business performance issues and execute action plans.
  • Interpret and evaluate monthly analyses of business trends and budget variances to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with the business to develop costing and profitability models and reports.
  • Assess the impact of strategic financial decisions and present recommendations to leadership.
  • Design and implement methods to continually improve financial processes.
  • Assess customer/product profitability and drive profit optimization.
