Position Information Responsibilities: Provides oversight by ensuring effective and efficient operations of accounting activities in the Financial Reporting System. Responsible for preparation and submission of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Annual Financial Report [AFR] process with the compilation, review, completion, and distribution of the Consolidated Annual Financial Report (AFR). Interprets and directs implementation of requirements resulting from Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). As well as responsible for monthly reconciliation of all locally held funds, state appropriations, and federal funds, including research and resolution of outstanding items. Oversee and review monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Oversees preparation and timely submission of the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA), State Pass Through Report (SPTR), Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and National Science Foundation (NSF) reports while coordinating with Sponsored Research Services (SRS). Oversees obtaining, usage of and reporting for federal capacity awards and cost share requirements for the agency. Oversees the monitoring and review of agency grant account set-ups, fiscal year activity, indirect costs, and close-outs. Oversees compliance of Time and Effort reporting for the agency. Directs the continued development, modification, and maintenance of automated modules for the system to improve consistency and accuracy. Oversees inventory and revenue recognition for agency store fronts. Manages specialized funding such as License Plates funding. Oversees Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service tax reporting such as Unrelated Business Income Tax, Hotel Occupancy Tax, State Sales tax, as well as TAMUS other reports such as BE-125, IPEDS, and other reports as needed. Coordinates and supervises service center analysis. Supervises gift analysis and reporting process, coordinating deposits, donor communications, reconciliation, and reporting to Texas A&M University System for Board of Regents. Prepares and provides oversight for Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS), FAMIS accounting entries, and ABEST. Coordinates and monitors general ledger account to subsidiary ledger account balances to ensure compliance with agency procedures. Work cooperatively across Budget and Reporting teams to ensure coordination and communications. Responds to inquiries. Serves as a fiscal liaison with departments and the System Office of Budgets and Accounting. Provides financial information, records, and support to auditors, both internally and externally. Supervise two staff and a student worker. Performs other duties as assigned.
