About The Position

The Associate Director of Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is an experienced individual contributor role for a developing subject matter expert who operates with significant autonomy. This position is responsible for conducting sophisticated financial analysis and planning across key organizational areas while serving as a liaison between Enterprise Finance and Business Unit Finance teams to ensure alignment and coordination of financial processes. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to help translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership and Board reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a senior FP&A role with budget/forecast responsibility.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple business units and finance teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting techniques.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including complex formula, data analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in financial planning software (e.g., Hyperion, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights) and ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present financial information and data findings clearly for senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
  • Developing leadership capabilities with ability to influence without direct authority.
  • High degree of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Adaptability and continuous learning mindset to develop subject matter expertise.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master's degree in Finance/Accounting preferred.
  • CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Experience in financial services or regulated industry environment preferred.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Adaptive, Workday, Power BI) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a top-level specialist to recommend innovative financial modeling techniques and forecasting methods to improve financial performance.
  • Adapts to changing business requirements, data sources, and analytical tools to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
  • Advises senior management and key internal stakeholders of financial planning complications and provides recommendations for addressing issues and optimizing performance.
  • Reviews for accuracy of financial reports and analyses, ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Partners with FP&A Business Functional teams to create and deliver Enterprise financial reports and analyses in support of enterprise-wide budgets and strategies.
  • Coordinates the preparation of pertinent information for internal and external clients, including requests for analysis, financial information, and reports.
  • Benchmarks financial metrics against industry standards to identify areas for improvement and devise solutions for achieving financial goals.
  • Creates and maintains financial dashboards and variance narratives.
  • Partners with team members to manage business case review and approval process in support of strategic initiatives and capital allocations.
  • Coaches and trains junior colleagues in techniques, processes and responsibilities.
  • Demonstration of FINRA’s values.
  • Collaboration, both in-person and virtually, in furtherance of FINRA’s mission of investor protection and market integrity.
