About The Position

Scotia Capital (USA), Inc. seeks Associate Director, EM Trading in New York, NY to support and contribute to the success of the global Emerging Markets Sales and Trading team. Work closely with the LATAM region and global EM teams. Work to ensure specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives with all activities conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Support senior Sales staff in servicing clients daily, providing assistance with trade booking and helping Sales in guided client interactions. Support the EM Sales and Trading team to ensure the profitable performance of the Emerging Markets desk in New York. Work with the Sales and Trading team and other stakeholders to ensure the client franchise is developed in support of the Bank's Pacific Alliance strategy. Achieve assigned annual targets, business and personal development objectives. Assist the Sales and Trading team in New York with junior activities including trade booking and processing, solving issues to minimize operational and regulatory risks. Support the Sales team to ensure Client needs are serviced by leveraging the Bank's key assets to build the franchise. Ensure compliance of trading limits, as well as internal and external rules and regulations. Help the team develop strong working relationships with other internal stakeholders such as GRM, GWO, TFRM and ORO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Experience working with financial products and technical details for all Latin America products including cross currency swaps, structure options, vanilla swaps, NDF/FX arbitrage, and Bonds.
  • Experience on the debt capital markets side, including supranational, sovereign and sub-sovereign debt instruments.
  • Experience with Market Risks and Risk Management Principles.
  • Utilizing technical language and software, including Python and Microsoft Excel.
  • Editing and design of corporate and institutional client's presentation.
  • Intermediate Spanish required.
