About The Position

The Associate Director, Education reports to the Deputy Director of Education and provides oversight for graduate training programs and other program initiatives within the Institute for Informatics, Data Science and Biostatistics (I2DB). Programs include a Master’s degree, summer program, certificate program, and Clinical Informatics Fellowship program. Additionally, the Associate Director is tasked with providing leadership and strategic direction for the curricular and professional development offerings of the programs and oversees employees that work in this area. This role assists with the design, development, and delivery of admissions processes, curriculum, workshops, and student services and monitors and reports on progress. This role is expected to be in the office an average of three days per week, with in-office days focused on collaboration, strategic planning, student support, and key meetings with leaders and direct reports. This role is in the Office of Health Information and Data Science (OHIDS). OHIDS includes the Institute for Informatics, Data Science and Biostatistics, and Becker Medical Library. Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic direction for education programs and professional development efforts.
  • Develops annual objectives and monitors and reports on progress through reports, publications and presentations.
  • Assists with development of proposals and curriculum; designs and organizes workshops, courses and webinars.
  • Provides oversight and training for I2DB education staff; hires and supervises adjunct faculty responsible for curriculum and instruction, hires and trains teaching assistants.
  • Creates opportunities for students including professional development, career development, and internship programs.
  • Provides strategic direction for admissions and recruitment processes.
  • Manages finances for the graduate programs.
  • Collaborates with faculty and staff across campus to deliver high-impact programs for traditional and in-career graduate learners.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
