About The Position

NRDC is a non-profit environmental advocacy organization. We use law, science, and the support of 3.1 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure the rights of all people to clean air, clean water, and healthy communities. NRDC was founded in 1970 and our people helped write some of America's bedrock environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act and many of the implementing regulations. Today, our team of more than 700 lawyers, scientists, economists, policy advocates, communications experts, and others work across the United States and the globe from our offices in Beijing; Chicago; New Delhi; New York; San Francisco; Santa Monica; and Washington, D.C. NRDC is seeking an Associate Director to work with the Development Donor Systems team in our New York office. Position Summary Development Donor Systems is an operations team within Development at NRDC that serves as a center of operational excellence within the department. The team and each team member’s specific responsibilities continue to evolve as we build our technology platform to support the department and organization as they grow. This is an exciting time during which we can shed old processes and ways of working that are no longer serving the institution. Flexibility, adaptability, and patience will be necessary to perform successfully in this role. The Associate Director is primarily a people management role, overseeing the Donor Onboarding team within Development Donor Systems; a gift processing and data operations unit that processes donations from multiple channels, performs imports of financial and donor data, and helps to ensure the data integrity of NRDC’s Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database through shared reconciliation processes with various stakeholders. In addition to managing the team through ongoing process improvement and change management projects involving documentation, training, and stakeholder communication, the Associate Director will also assume responsibility for coaching direct reports on their own career development and performance management of the team.
