About The Position

This is a Debt Capital Markets origination role to bring clients to the capital markets in Asia, Australia and New Zealand, as well as to other markets where ANZ operates. This role requires monitoring underlying bond markets to identify opportunities for client issuance, determine investor demand and best pricing, covering clients and originating new issues. You will help design and develop the core marketing strategy, including development of pitch books and relevant marketing material required. The role links closely with other ANZ offices and will report directly to the Executive Director Capital Markets Americas.

Requirements

• Demonstrated successful track record in bond or loan origination.
• Background in corporate finance or credit analysis or demonstrates an ability to understand and analyse client's business and financials.
• Exhibits strong interpersonal, influencing, presentation and negotiating skills that can be used in motivating, influencing and advising key stakeholders and decision makers.
• Experience working with syndicate team on all aspects of the deal life cycle, including book building, documentation, road show, pricing, execution and hedging.
• Team player with strong work ethic and growth mindset.
• Demonstrated experience in Asia/Australia/New Zealand fixed income product a plus.

Responsibilities

• Originate and assist in originating bond issuance by North American clients of the bank (including reverse inquiry)
• Develop strong relationships with clients of the bank and internal stakeholders.
• Understand the client's borrowing requirements and optimal capital structure and help develop an appropriate approach to borrowing in the capital markets, focusing on ANZ's core markets, and working in partnership with the Relationship Managers.
• Work closely with Derivatives members of the Client Solutions team to deliver holistic, comprehensive solutions (debt issuance and associated derivatives) to clients for event driven situations and BAU.
• Work closely with sales, trading and DCM/Syndicate desks from the network to manage and execute deals ANZ leads in USD markets or for North American customers.
• Analyse market developments and identify potential opportunities and impacts.
• Support the design and development of the core marketing strategy, including development of pitch book, and relevant marketing material.
• Assist in all aspects of origination and underwriting, including supporting client, coordination of offering documentation, transaction approvals process, execution, settlement and after-market communications.
• Communicate and effectively negotiate terms relevant to the market of distribution with issuer, legal counsel, rating agencies, as well as other financial institutions acting in the capacity as joint program arrangers or lead managers.
• Work with peers to develop and enhance the bond origination and underwriting process for the bank and for clients of the bank.
