The Data Engineering team at Verizon is seeking a seasoned leader to define and execute the strategy and vision for Customer Service data engineering and products. This role focuses on driving the future of data products for Verizon Consumer Group (VCG) and Verizon Business Group (VBG), enhancing customer and employee experiences through the development of digital and AI-first data products. The leader will oversee the quality and integrity of data pipelines and manage a global team to support various customer service initiatives.

  • Define and execute the strategy and vision for Customer Service data engineering and products.
  • Build reusable core data products to support channel efficiency programs.
  • Enable real-time signals from omni-channel interactions and transactions.
  • Support customer service transformation initiatives for VCG and VBG.
  • Provide analytics support through regular interactions with multiple Directors and VP teams.
  • Lead the Enterprise Data Analytics transformation to a hybrid cloud-based architecture.
  • Manage an annual budget of $5-$8M+ in development.
  • Oversee a global team of 10+ FTEs and 15+ T&Ms and Consultants.
  • Use real-time signals to build reusable data products and features for AI/ML model architecture.
  • Establish a standard design and architecture operating model for new programs.
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in building quality, scalable data engineering pipelines.
  • Experience in building reusable data products for sales, marketing, and strategy teams.
  • Well versed with GCP offerings and building data pipelines on GCP with 2+ years of direct hands-on experience on the GCP stack.
  • Good knowledge in Teradata concepts and logical/physical database design.
  • 8 or more years of Data Engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of managing a highly technical team.
  • Proficiency in Martech life cycle, processes: Data collection, audience segmentation, activations, and measurement systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and a hypothesis-driven approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
