About the position

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing and building cloud-based data solutions, collaborating with team members to manage the development and maintenance of business intelligence and data quality compliance tools. This role involves acting as a subject matter expert, managing project plans, and ensuring timely delivery of tasks while reporting to the Director on project status and roadblocks.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with a team of data engineers, developers, and UX designers to create data pipelines and workflows for media performance reporting.
  • Manage the design, build, and maintenance phases of client reporting projects.
  • Collaborate with the offshore team on CI/CD pipelines.
  • Define and document data architecture and reporting/visualization requirements with client stakeholders.
  • Migrate internal teams from legacy data platforms to new data platforms, ensuring data quality and providing ongoing support.
  • Deploy new client teams to cloud data solutions, offering guidance and support during onboarding.
  • Define QA guidelines and automate the current QA process.
  • Develop tools, processes, and best practices to achieve workflow efficiencies with support from the Director.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for data quality, BI tools, and business rules, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Familiarize with the full campaign implementation workflow across all functional teams.
  • Stay informed on industry changes and support POV development on data privacy laws and measurement tools.
  • Facilitate communication and task progression through regular status meetings and working sessions.
  • Build positive relationships with internal teams and effectively communicate roles and expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Business, Math, Computer Science, or Sciences preferred.
  • Minimum 4-5 years' experience in data governance processes in a data warehousing, ETL, and business intelligence environment.
  • 3 years' experience in media, digital investment, analytics, or ad operations preferred.
  • Experience with the full development life cycle of an application or reporting solution from design through test and deployment.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advertising campaign management/buying platforms such as Sizmek, GCM, Flashtalking, Moat, DV, IAS, Mediaocean, and others.
  • Familiarity with project/product management tools like Jira, Confluence, Smartsheets, Azure DevOps/VSTS.
  • Knowledge of data engineering platforms such as Databricks.
