About The Position

We are seeking an Associate Director to join our Risk Development Team to provide technical and thought leadership across a range of credit risk initiatives. This role will focus on the execution and deployment of credit models and strategies that power our core loans decisioning platforms. You will play a critical role in driving the modernization of our decisioning ecosystem, collaborating closely with risk strategy, product, and technology partners to deliver business impact. In this role: Lead the design, development, testing and implementation of credit risk models, workflows and decision strategies across Risk platforms. Provide technical direction and best practices for risk execution initiatives, ensuring alignment with modern architecture principles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Credit Strategy, Product, and Technology) to define and implement scalable, resilient solutions. Contribute to the modernization of the decisioning platform by applying expertise in cloud-native technologies, containerization, and DevOps practices. Navigate ambiguity and evolving requirements while delivering high-quality, business-critical solutions. Serve as a technical mentor and subject-matter expert, promoting engineering excellence and innovation within risk execution. Develop testing & control procedures to ensure execution accuracy and effective post implementation monitoring

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, CIS/MIS, engineering, or related statistical field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 8+ years in financial services with heavy use of predictive models and strategy-based decision-making platforms
  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using object-oriented programming principles in languages such as Java and Python
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets
  • Solid understanding of modern system architecture concepts (microservices, APIs, event-driven design)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Exposure to MLOps and DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive initiatives through ambiguity
  • Proven success collaborating with diverse teams to deliver complex technical solutions that achieve business goals
  • Experience in credit decisioning within the financial services' domain

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with decision engines (e.g., Experian PowerCurve, Drools) and rule management systems
