As a Principal Copywriter, this role is a master of the craft and a strategic pillar within the creative team. The individual will handle complex briefs, pioneering ideas that merge marketing and technology, and serve as a trusted partner to clients, guiding their growth through sophisticated storytelling. The position requires a focus on social- and digital-first thinking, encompassing short- and long-form scriptwriting, and a comprehensive understanding of all social media platforms and various written tones of voice. Daily tasks involve translating strategy into engaging content that drives perception and action, ensuring brand and campaign voice excellence from start to finish. The Principal Copywriter will collaborate closely with Art Directors on creative development and orchestrate execution with Video Editors, Content Creators, and Visual Designers, reporting to the Group Creative Director to bring creative briefs to life across digital, social, and video channels.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience with a focus on digital-first copywriting.
  • An exceptional portfolio featuring work that spans performance creative, always-on social, and 360 campaigns for major brands.
  • Advanced strategic thinking and the ability to link creative output to business KPIs.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire a team of diverse creatives.
  • A deep understanding of digital-first copywriting and how technology influences content consumption.

Responsibilities

  • Set the creative standard for copy across major accounts, ensuring excellence and innovation in every output.
  • Develop compelling creative concepts that break patterns and drive impact against clients’ business objectives.
  • Write long-form and short-form content that drives conversion and brand loyalty. Present work in clear and convincing decks that make it easy for clients to say “yes”.
  • Work closely with the strategy team to inform briefs and provide insights to inform best-in-class social creative concepts.
  • Shape and pitch convincing presentations through storytelling with strategic and audience insights.
  • Work in an always-on, agile environment and create connections between social and cultural trends and brand products.
  • Author creator concepts and briefs that lead to compelling on-brand, platform-first creator content.
  • Share POVs and perspectives that shape the long-term creative vision for an account.
  • Lead creative workshops to define brand narratives and creative territories.
  • Proactively share knowledge and insights with the wider creative team.
  • Identify opportunities for "growth invention" using copy to push the boundaries of what’s possible in tech and marketing.
  • Guide a team of junior to mid-level Copywriters. You’ll provide specific, craft-based feedback that pushes their work further while helping them develop their own voices.
