About The Position

Associate Director, Computational Biology: For a CRO (Frontage Laboratories, Inc. – Deerfield Beach, FL): lead the development, optimization and maintenance of computational pipelines for the analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data in support of clinical and preclinical studies; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate sequencing-based assays including tumor profiling, germline analysis and cell-free DNA applications into routine workflows; design and implement scalable and reproducible bioinformatics tools using R, Python, and industry-standard platforms; partner with wet lab scientists to troubleshoot and refine high-throughput genomic workflows and ensure robust assay performance across diverse biological matrices; support validation and deployment of NGS-based assays into regulated production environments; provide scientific and strategic leadership on project design, data interpretation, and regulatory documentation for client-sponsored studies.

Requirements

  • Master of Science or foreign equivalent degree in Biology, Computational Biology, Genomics or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience as a Computational Biologist. Experience must include genomic data interpretation, tumor profiling, germline variation, cell-free DNA and integration with qPCR or proteomic data, cloud-based computing (AWS, GCP), containerization (Docker/Singularity), and version control (Git) for scalable, reproducible workflows.
  • Proficiency in Python, R and shell scripting.
  • Experience using workflow engines (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake, WDL/Cromwell).
