About The Position

Phillips Academy seeks a full-time, continuing Associate Director of College Counseling to begin in August 2026. This is an unhoused 12-month, full-time administrative faculty position. Throughout the academic year, occasional evening and weekend work is required. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, dynamic, and thoughtful team player; have strong organizational, writing, and public speaking skills; and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. We seek candidates who will be active participants in the community to join our experienced team of 13 counselors and four administrative support members. Collaboration and teamwork are cornerstones of the CCO team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of combined experience in college counseling and/or selective college admissions, with an emphasis on college counseling, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Counseling and supporting students in the college selection and application process
  • Working with students individually and in small groups
  • Building relationships with families
  • Writing recommendations
  • Providing feedback on applicants’ essays
  • Advising students on course selection
  • Taking part in professional development
  • Other projects and activities as assigned by the Director of College Counseling
