About The Position

The Associate Director of Civic and Community Engagement at North Carolina State University is responsible for establishing the strategic vision for civic and community engagement initiatives within the Student Leadership and Engagement department. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Student Affairs, Education, Leadership, Organizational Development, Higher Education, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in higher education or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with civic and community engagement initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the strategic vision for civic and community engagement initiatives.
  • Lead the implementation of projects and programs related to students' basic needs and service learning.
  • Conceive and lead strategic planning activities for community engagement within the division.
  • Serve as NC State's content expert on civic engagement activities and coordinate with communications teams.
  • Establish priorities for voter and election engagement and coordinate with university leadership.
  • Supervise staff including Assistant Directors and graduate assistants for civic engagement.
  • Manage financial projects related to civic and community engagement.
  • Lead assessment and evaluation processes for engagement activities.
  • Develop and lead coalitions and advisory groups to promote civic engagement goals.
  • Design programs and events that promote socially responsible leadership.
