About The Position

POSITION SUMMARYThe Associate Director oversees the development, implementation, and effectiveness of all Child First services at Wheeler, including DCF and OEC-funded services. The Associate Director focuses on promoting mental health, preventing and reducing risk factors, and providing early intervention for vulnerable children and their families. SALARY $88,000

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, or other human services related field.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working psychotherapeutically with young children (0-5 years) and their families using a relationally based model.
  • Significant experience working in in-home and community-based settings is also required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience providing supervision to Master’s level Clinicians.
  • Displays excellent leadership and team-building skills (organized, self-motivated and flexible).
  • Connecticut License (LCSW, LPC, LMFT or Psychologist)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all components of operations and set program policy and procedures for Child First teams of Masters and Bachelors level staff.
  • Provide Child First group reflective supervision and case conference meetings on a weekly basis, using videotape as appropriate.
  • Provide weekly reflective supervision with each identified Clinician, Care Coordinator, and Clinical Team.
  • Provide administrative oversight for all Child First teams and staff and ensure that program meets all funding and model defined program benchmarks.
  • Supervise and manage staff to support that they are meeting all program expectations including meeting home visit completion benchmarks and data documentation requirements.
  • Maintain an “open door” policy for staff supervision, consultation, and support, as needed.
  • Review progress notes, formulations, and clinical diagnoses for all children and families.
  • Review and sign all identified Child and Family Plans of Care (Treatment Plans).
  • Build and maintain cohesive, supportive, reflective, respectful relationships among staff.
  • Review all process data on a monthly basis with staff and discuss areas for improvement, and respond to clinical areas of need with specific training for staff.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and submit required reporting for DCF and OEC Child First teams and review outcome data on a quarterly basis with staff and discuss areas for improvement, and respond to clinical areas of need with specific training for staff.
  • Use the Child First Fidelity Framework with all staff to maintain fidelity to the Child First model.
  • Lead all site-based quality enhancement activities in collaboration with the Connecticut Clinical Director and Child First NPO.
  • Participate in reflective consultation with the Connecticut Clinical Director on a biweekly basis.
  • Participate in agency-based clinical supervision on a weekly basis.
  • Assure that the Child First program and staff are integrated into the affiliate agency, with ongoing communication with the agency Program Manager and/or CEO.
  • Hire new Child First staff using Child First NPO guidelines.
  • Actively participate in all Child First training, including Child First Learning Collaborative, distance learning, and specialty training, and assist staff in mastering program components to ensure fidelity to the Child First model.
  • Attend the monthly clinical and administrative Child First Clinical Directors’ Meeting.
  • Supervise entry of all data by staff and ensure accuracy.
  • Conduct chart reviews to ensure all necessary clinical components and consents are in place.
  • Build relationships and work collaboratively with local non-profit agencies, public social services, and state policy makers to enhance their understanding and utilization of Child First services.
  • Represent Child First within the local early childhood council or collaborative meetings and other local, state, and national meetings, as appropriate.
  • Serve as the Child First liaison with all community partners including child welfare, health providers, early care and education, early intervention (IDEA-Part C), courts, etc.
  • Maintain a caseload of 1-2 Child First families, in partnership with a Care Coordinator.
  • Understands and adheres to Wheeler Clinic’s compliance standards as they appear in the clinic’s Corporate Compliance Plan, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Completes all training in a timely manner as required by state and federal regulations (e.g., Compliance, Fire Safety, HIPAA HITECH, Infection Control, Sexual Harassment, etc.) and specific to the department and position.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and clinic regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
