About The Position

The Associate Director for Campus Recreation - Business & Facility Operations, reports to the Director of Campus Recreation. The Associate Director is responsible for the overall planning, budgeting, assessment and coordination of the business, facility, and marketing functions for the department. This position directly supervises the Assistant Director of Facility Operations and Student Development, Marketing and Communications Specialist, Assistant Director of Member Services, and Coordinator of Business Operations. This position is responsible for oversight of departmental human resources, fiscal and business functions, facility management, and use of technology. This position functions as part of the leadership team and serves as needed in the absence of the Director on various internal and external-related business and communications.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Administration, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 5 years of professional work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Seven to ten years of collegiate recreation experience (or recreation management for a municipal recreation program and/or related experiences).
  • Professional and student personnel supervision at the collegiate level, preferably Campus Recreation.
  • Demonstrated experience in Budget Development, Financial Processes and Forecasting.
  • Demonstrated experience in Facility Management and Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the oversight of operation and management of indoor space including preventative maintenance, repair, and cleaning needs, member services and access, risk management, and staffing.
  • Oversees major capital projects and manages relationships with facility management, project management, outside contractors, and housekeeping.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance and oversight of technology related functions for department (software and hardware).
  • Responsible for Anaplan (budgeting software) & forecasting multiyear revenue/expenses.
  • Oversees the management of the department's finances including policy development/enforcement.
  • Responsible for the overall planning, development, implementation, assessment and coordination of all marketing/promotional programs.
  • Manages external relationships on a Departmental level with organizations such as Student Government Association, Business Affairs, Student Affairs Business Officers, College of Health and Human Services, and Athletics.
  • Serves as primary contact for Human Resources regarding HR matters and all professional job searches.
