About The Position

The Associate Director, Business Development Clinical Research US will focus on building new and maintaining productive client relationships in the clinical research industry for the SGS Clinical Research Services. This role is pivotal in achieving individual and team revenue and sales objectives through proactive communication and sales of SGS Clinical Research Services to both new and assigned clients. The individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic business development plan tailored for the US market, aimed at meeting and advancing the company's objectives. This includes not only the development of new business but also the maintenance and growth of key client relationships, which is essential for supporting the overall growth of the organization. In this position, the Associate Director will make sales calls to prospective new clients to initiate new business relationships and create opportunities through client needs identification and relationship building. They will utilize various strategies and implement tactics to persuade prospective sponsors to contract with SGS Clinical Research. The role requires the development and implementation of individual, territory, and key account strategies specifically geared towards the growth and retention of the client base. The Associate Director must be adept at designing and delivering powerful solution-driven capabilities and proposal defense presentations in collaboration with highly skilled clinical and operations personnel. Additionally, the Associate Director will coordinate efforts for responses to Requests for Proposals/Information and represent SGS Clinical Research at industry-related conferences and trade shows. They will provide continuous general intelligence on all key competitors, including their services, acquisitions, and pricing. Daily updates to the CRM system and weekly sales reports outlining major client visits, phone calls, accomplishments, and objectives/goals achieved or missed are also part of the responsibilities. The role may include mentoring and/or managing Business Development team members in the US, and the individual must be able and willing to travel throughout the assigned geographical territory.
