Rockstar Online Services is looking for a passionate DevOps/Systems Engineer who has a strong understanding of Windows systems and an inclination to automate repetitive tasks and develop tooling. This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan. WHAT WE DO The Rockstar Games Online Services Team is a passionate development group, focused on growing and maintaining the technology platform that powers Rockstar’s online titles and our ability to deliver world-class player experiences. We work closely with developers, DBAs, Build Engineers, and Security teams to provide operational support for critical services that enable connected experiences found across our game franchises. We build world-class infrastructure for our high traffic, high visibility web sites and services. We constantly review our processes, automate wherever possible, and develop our own toolchains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or other related field.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and ability to write clear code.
  • Good understanding of operating systems, TCP/IP networking, and HTTP.
  • Genuine curiosity and an impulse to understand how things work.
  • Observant and detail oriented.
  • Capable of working independently while also collaborating as part of a larger team.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Automate workflows and contribute to our codebase in Powershell, C#, Python, and Go.
  • Build using Github, infrastructure as code (Terraform), and configuration management (DSC/Chef).
  • Build and maintain Windows servers in a highly available, public facing environment.
  • Maintain and support .NET/ASP.NET web sites and services.
  • Build and support SQL Server failover clusters.
  • Manage VMware clusters, storage systems, and monitoring systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis through multiple infrastructure layers.
